We’re the Hurts

Zach and I met in 2018, married in 2022, and welcomed our son, Linus, in 2024. As if having a newborn doesn’t make life busy enough, Linus has a variety of medical needs that add to the complexity of our day to day lives. Before Linus we knew little of the world of medical parenting, but we quickly had to dive in and become acquainted with the advocacy, research, and trainings required of families like ours. Between having a medically complex baby, moving to a new state, and Zach beginning medical school, 2024 has been our craziest year yet. Our faith, a good sense of humor, and learning of other families’ stories have helped keep us grounded and given us the ability to take on each day with a tremendous sense of gratitude. We are eager to share our story and the lessons this year has taught to help other families being welcomed into the medical parenting community, so please feel free to share with anyone who may find peace from hearing about our experiences!
